Eighteen months ago, I didn't fully understand what was happening to my body. As a Nutritionist, I have been helping women with peri and menopausal symptoms for years. I always thought to myself that when it would be my turn, I would embrace it well. Well, unbeknownst to me, one day the hot flash came out of nowhere, and that night my sleep was not the same. My moods felt like they belonged to someone else. And somewhere in the middle of all that, as a nutritionist who had spent years helping other people feel better in their bodies, I realized I needed to build something for myself.
That's how Enzie Natural Teas started — not as a business plan, but as a kitchen counter experiment born out of my own menopause. I leaned on what I know about nutrition and herbalism, and I started blending. Three teas came out of that season of my life: Harmony Tea, Glow Tea, and Wise Woman Tea. Each one answered a different question my body was asking me.
Here's the story behind each blend — what's in it, why I chose those herbs, and how each one shows up for me.
A quick note before we dive in: these are herbal teas, not medicine. I'm sharing what these herbs are traditionally used for and what my own experience has been — this isn't medical advice, and if you're navigating perimenopause or menopause, it's always worth talking to a health professional, especially if you're on medication.
Harmony Tea: for the days my body felt like it was arguing with itself
Ingredients: organic hibiscus, organic spearmint, organic lemongrass, organic elderflower, organic red raspberry leaf, organic nettle leaf, organic lavender, orange peel
Harmony was the first blend I made, and it came directly out of the most unpredictable stretch of perimenopause — when my cycle was erratic, my temperature regulation felt broken, and I just wanted my body to feel like it was working with me instead of against me.
- Red raspberry leaf is one of the most time-honored herbs in women's herbalism, traditionally used to support the uterus and overall hormonal transitions.
- Nettle leaf is prized for being deeply mineral-rich — traditionally reached for to help replenish the body during hormonal shifts.
- Hibiscus brings a tart, cooling quality and is traditionally used to support a sense of balance.
- Lavender is there for calm — it's one of the most classic herbs for soothing the nervous system.
- Spearmint, lemongrass, elderflower, and orange peel round the blend out with brightness and a gentle, uplifting flavour that makes it something I actually crave, not just something I make myself drink.
I reach for Harmony most in the evenings to calm my busy day+. It's become my way of telling my nervous system, we're okay, we're steady, as the day comes to an end.
Glow Tea: for when menopause dulled things I didn't expect it to
Ingredients: organic lemon verbena, organic lemongrass, organic hibiscus, organic rooibos, organic rose hips, artichoke leaf, organic spearmint, orange peel
While I knew menopause would affect things like my skin, my digestion, and my energy, it came fast and not so subtle. Glow Tea came from wanting to feel bright again — inside and out.
- Rose hips are one of nature's richest sources of vitamin C and are traditionally valued for supporting skin.
- Artichoke leaf has a long history of traditional use for supporting digestion and liver.
- Rooibos is naturally caffeine-free and rich in antioxidants, and I love it as a warm, slightly sweet base.
- Lemon verbena and lemongrass give it that citrusy lift I need on sluggish afternoons.
- Hibiscus, spearmint, and orange peel add brightness and make it taste like something you'd order at a café, not something that's "good for you."
This is my morning or afternoon reset tea. Either to get me started or when the afternoon begs for some brightness or uplifting. Glow is what I brew. This blend is for both men and women and it is truly works to help digestion and liver processes.
Wise Woman Tea: for the nights I needed to feel held
Ingredients: organic spearmint leaf, linden flowers, lemon balm, organic elderflowers, organic rosehips, organic hibiscus, organic lemon peel, orange peel, organic nettle leaf
This one is named exactly how it feels to drink it. Wise Woman is an evening tea — the one I sip when I want to wind down and honor the fact that I'm not fighting this transition anymore, I'm moving through it. I created this blend for the time I was considered menopausal after that 1 year mark
- Lemon balm is one of the most classic calming herbs, traditionally used to ease tension and support restful evenings.
- Linden flowers have a long European herbal tradition as a gentle, soothing herb for winding down.
- Elderflower adds a soft floral note and is traditionally used to support the body through change.
- Nettle leaf returns here too, grounding the blend nutritionally.
- Rosehips, hibiscus, and citrus peels keep it from tasting too "medicinal" — it's warm, a little tart, genuinely comforting.
I drink Wise Woman about an hour before bed. It's become part of a ritual more than a remedy — a signal to myself that the day is done and I'm allowed to rest.
Why I'm sharing this
I built Enzie Natural Teas because I was looking for a blend that had me covered on all the levels I needed, and I wanted the process of finding relief to feel warm and intentional rather than clinical. In addition, I really took into consideration what other women spoke to me about and rather than drink 4-5 separate teas in a day, I wanted to simplify the routine with the best herbs necessary to address the symptoms felt. These three teas are the result of that search, and they've genuinely become part of how I move through my day, my cycle of moods, and my sleep.
If you're in this season of life too, I'd love for you to try them and tell me how they show up for you. We're figuring this out together. Shop Harmony, Glow, and Wise Woman Tea at www.enzienaturals.com and start your own ritual — because you don't have to go through this season alone.
